Members First. Always.
35+ years of industry experience – 21+ years of advocacy through NABIP. A proven track record of innovation. A voice that has testified, led, and delivered for NABIP members at every level — local, state, and national. A record built on results – not promises.
“I didn’t come to NABIP to climb a ladder. I came to move the needle. I want to lift our conversations out of politics and into policy.”
Mark Gaunya is the Founder and CEO of Captivated Health and Principal at Borislow Insurance based out of Boston, Massachusetts and he has spent over two decades building relationships across NABIP and other key constituents in the employee benefits industry. Relationships rooted in trust, transparency, and a relentless focus on the member and the healthcare consumer.
He is the only candidate combining 21+ years of deep NABIP leadership experience at every level, with the executive discipline of having scaled an organization well beyond NABIP’s current operating budget, multiple times over.
Mark is not learning how to lead. He has done the work at every level and he is ready to step up at a critical moment in NABIP’s 100+ year history.
He has testified before legislators and regulators, chaired state and national NABIP committees, co-authored landmark policy documents, and keynoted on stages across the country — always with one goal: making healthcare easier, accessible, more affordable and transparent for every American.
Mark has professional colleagues and friends across the country who share one goal: making healthcare easier and more affordable for everyone. Their work is his mission — and their voices deserve a seat at the table at every level of government, especially state and local.
NABIP is the advocate for the healthcare consumer for over 100 years. Mark is passionate about protecting that legacy through legislative and regulatory advocacy that puts the American healthcare consumer first.
The board needs executive leadership, enhanced financial discipline and the fortitude to make tough decisions. Mark has run organizations at scale and knows how to be a steady hand during turbulent times. Now is his moment to give back at the highest level.
Not promises. Priorities—backed by a record of execution.
Build up the association’s financial strength, grow top-line revenue, and apply proven executive discipline to operating expenses, with full transparency to the membership.
Promote professional curriculum for members at every career stage, grow Medicare certification participation that rivals AHIP at lower cost, and grow membership by demonstrating undeniable value.
In collaboration with an extremely talented team of NABIP leaders from all industry niches and geographies, he co-authored NABIP’s landmark policy document, defining the association’s stance on consumer protections, agent value, and legislative priorities. This is the kind of substantive leadership Mark brings to everything he does.
Mark’s credentials aren’t a resume, they’re a roadmap for what he’ll do as president-elect.
“NABIP’s best days are ahead. Getting there demands that we lead with purpose, advocate with urgency, and serve our members with everything we’ve got. That’s not a campaign promise. That’s how I’ve operated for 35+ years.”
